We make the forms necessary for the welding process at our plant in Sopron, Hungary, and operate a rail and welding services company in St. Florian, Austria called Florianer Bahn Service GmbH.
Our at one time family-owned company was founded in 1972 by Rolf Plötz, for the production of steel and metal granulates. In 1992, the company switched to the manufacture of aluminothermic welding materials, for which in 1994 we received official authorization from the Eisenbahnbundesamt, in consultation with Deutsche Bahn AG (German National Railroad).
Another milestone in the history of our company occurred in 2001, at which time our quality management system was granted DIN-ISO 9001 certification. A year later we were granted a license to train welders, by Deutsche Bahn AG (German National Railroad), represented by SLV Hannover.
In 2010, our steadily growing company was acquired by the France-based Delachaux Group and was absorbed into their Railtech Welding & Equipment division. Since July 2018 we act under the the common name Pandrol.
The Delachaux Group is a multinational company. Its welding division – one of the company’s largest – provides products and services for the railroad sector.
The advantages of the merger with Railtech Welding & Equipment are the highly professional orientation on the part of this erstwhile family owned company, and greatly expanded technical support from its experts and labs. The know-how transfer within the Railtech Group, from one of the world’s largest aluminothermic welding research and development departments, has greatly improved process and product quality and innovation. But despite all this, Railtech Deutschland has retained its family-style flexibility, along with the capacity to leverage all of the advantages of being part of a multinational concern.
Quality, environmental protection, employee satisfaction and cost effectiveness play a key and overarching role not only in The Delachaux Group, but are also the key drivers that enable Pandrol to continuously audit and optimize its products and processes, both internally and externally.
Today, Pandrol markets its products worldwide, via the Pandrol SAS marketing organization. Our main markets are in Germany, Poland, Austria, The Netherlands, Denmark and Italy.
